Matthew Savage

Clarinet, Singer

Matthew enjoys playing clarinet or singing while other people dance, or singing while he dances and other people watch, or pretty much any other combination of singing, dancing and music.

Matthew "The Savage" Savage is a brutal man who enjoys making children cry. He plays clarinet and sings with Toot-A-Lute, plus sings and dances as the only straight man in the Rainy City Gay Men's Chorus.

He learned to play clarinet and other woodwinds in his elementary school, junior and senior highschool bands. As a starving student, however, his instruments are currently limited to: clarinet, voice, spoons, cat, chair, and the wails of small children in mortal terror. He has in the past played tenor and baritone saxophones, tenor recorder and piano with varying degrees of success.

Though his musical education was primarily based on classical and jazz, he loves to play any kind of music he can get his greedy fingers on; the music he has been exposed to playing with Toot-A-Lute has become part of his repertoire thanks to it's lively energy and the sheer joy it is to play.
